What is Labiaplasty?

Labiaplasty is a minor surgical procedure that removes excess skin/tissue of the labia minora. This can be carried out as a day case procedure with patient choice of either under local or general anaesthetic. This will be discussed with the plastic surgeon.

The surgical options on offer for vaginal rejuvenation are labiapalsty and/or fat transfer to the labia majora (outer lips).

Fat transfer to Labia:

Pregnancy, aging and weight loss can contribute to the loss of fat and vaginal dryness in the vaginal area. There are two avenues that can be carried out in order to make a more rejuvenated, plump outer labia. The first is fat transfer, taking your fat out from another part of your body and re injecting into the vaginal area.

This can be carried out under either local or general anesthetic and takes up to one hour to carry out. The final aesthetic result will be seen after the six week period, as there will be some initial swelling from the procedure.

The Benefits

  • Improved self-confidence
  • More comfortable in swimwear
  • Improved silhouette
  • Eliminates pain during intercourse

Recovery

  • Up to 1 week off work
  • Results become more apparent after 6 weeks
  • Apply ice to reduce swelling
